A scratch on a customer's car? The photo report settles it

A customer collects their car and finds a scratch. Was it already there when the car arrived? Without a record it is one person's word against another's. That is why a photo report is created on every ride we do for your garage: at the customer's door and on your forecourt.

On a garage forecourt the driver photographs the wing of a customer's car while the garage owner watches.

What is recorded when the car is collected from the customer?

The driver photographs the car before setting off:

  1. At least 10 photos: front, rear, all sides and all four wheels, plus the interior and the dashboard.
  2. Mileage and fuel level, read from the dashboard photo and confirmed by the driver.
  3. Visible scratches, dents, glass and wheel damage, marked on the photo by the driver.
  4. Time, place and your customer's signature on the screen.

What happens at handover in my garage?

The driver takes the same series of photos again. The second report shows what has changed since pick-up: every finding is labelled "Documented at pick-up" or "New". Mileage and fuel level are in it too. You or someone on your team signs for the car. When the driver takes the car back after the work, the procedure is the same: one report at your garage, one at the customer's.

How does the report settle "that scratch wasn't there before"?

In both directions. If the scratch is already in the pick-up report, with a photo and the customer's signature, it was there before the ride and before your work. If it is missing there and appears at handover in your garage, it happened between pick-up and handover, that is, while the car was in our hands. If the car reached you with no new finding and the report for the return ride records one at pick-up, the damage happened while the car was at your garage.

The report is a record, not an expert assessment. At night, in rain or when the car is very dirty, the paintwork cannot be assessed reliably. The report then says "Condition not assessable", and for those areas it proves nothing.

Who receives the PDF?

As soon as a report is completed, the PDF is emailed to your garage and to your customer, provided the customer's email address was entered with the booking. In the garage area you will find every report on the page of the ride. The original photos are stored unchanged.

What does it cost?

The report is part of every ride. A single ride costs CHF 65. With a monthly subscription a ride costs less than CHF 60, and less than CHF 54 with the largest subscription: subscriptions start at CHF 599 per month for 10 rides, and the Plus subscription includes 25 rides per month for CHF 1’349. The first ride is free. All prices are for rides up to 10 km, excluding VAT.
